True story?
My first heart break was when I was about 10 years old. That was the year I found out there was no such thing as a Prince Charming.
I had watched and read so many fairytales that I actually believed there was a thing called a Happily Ever After, and that every woman had a Prince waiting to sweep her off her feet.
I was so excited to meet mine one day.
Then the world told me... he didn't actually exist. People didn't naturally have Happily Ever After's! I was crushed, deeply. A heartbreak that would pop up for years still... right after I'd hear of a great love story, but then, in the light of day, remind myself that fairytales like that weren't real.
So sad for young me.
But you know what? The world was wrong. They did exist. Just not always during the day... the world was looking in the wrong places. Sometimes you have to be a little creative and look for your "Happily Ever" in different ways. Like how I found mine at night, within the pages of my novels.
